Charlotte is an award-winning illustrator and author of children’s picture books who lives and works in Montreal. She holds a bachelor’s degree in visual arts from Concordia University, where she specialized in drawing. Her books include The Magic Cap by Mireille Messier, Milo the Knight by Grégoire Laforce, and Le premier arbre de Noël by Ovila Fontaine, which was the winner of the prestigious Governor’s General Literary Prize for Young People’s Literature in the Illustrated Books category. The English language version, The First Christmas Tree, will be published by Orca Books in 2025. Her first picture book as both author and illustrator, Murielle et le mystère, is forthcoming in French from Comme des géants. Charlotte’s work is characterized by gentle colors, emotive lines and shapes, playful patterns, and lush textures. She works in all kinds of traditional media, including colored pencils, gouache, and ink. She loves children’s stories that are fresh, thoughtful, and a little weird.
